So what's the end goal?

I explained yesterday, how I was planning a few goals to achieve in the next five years. I started planning this, towards the start of June and my goal was that on July 1st 2019, I'd start putting my plan in motion, so that on the 30th June 2024 I could look back and see in the last five years I'd achieved all my goals.

What's the end goal though?

Well, to be honest, in my vision, it looks a lot like today.

I plan to be happy, surrounded by family and friends. I hope to have a happy home, to be happy with my life and hobbies and to be fulfilled by the things (think less possession things, more service opportunities and community involvement) and people I have in my life.

There are a few things that I think will help me get there, and they are under the headings below.

Health

This is such a wide statement, I know but I will break it down into smaller goals and an overall goal, but at the moment over the next five years, I would like to lose weight, get fit and to be able to say that I eat healthily most of the time.

Relationships

I would like to continue to have healthy relationships with family and friends. I would like to be able to say that my family are all in good places in their own lives and have family and friends know they can call on me if they need help.

Finances

I would like to have paid off all debt, paid off a rather large chunk of the mortgage (I'll talk % wise, rather than actual figures on this), I would like to pay off my student loan, have a small nest egg of around £2,500 and ensure that the children's bank accounts are up to date as there may have been a few months (read years) where we didn't have enough funds to put money into their accounts.

Employment

Well, this I can break down into smaller parts. I'd like to be earning money with my blogging, have a Podcast (that brings in some money from sponsorship) and, thinking big here, find employment as a Radio presenter.

Faith

I am very happy with my spiritual wellbeing, but there are a few things that I would like to improve upon. I would like to attend the Temple more regularly, I would like to increase my knowledge of the Scriptures (maybe by doing the Seminary course) and I'd quite like it if I was able to stick to my scripture reading routine!

Home

Our home is a nice home, but I still want to declutter, decorate, do up the garden, replace some windows, repair a couple of broken things and of course ensure that it reflects Flyfour, the children and I.

Normal things that everyone wants their home to be.

Skills

I'd like to take some basic first aid courses and develop some basic care skills, I'd like to learn to sew properly, as in using a sewing machine to make clothes and not just pillows or things that are straight, I'd like to learn to ride a horse (again), I'd like to also learn some mechanic skills and I'd rather like it if Flyfour could teach me how to programme the lights and things in the house so that if he is away and something breaks, I could fix it.

Community

I am already quite involved in my local community. I am a Brown Owl, a School Governor, I have a calling at Church that involves me hanging out with young people, I give blood, I help out a few of our elderly neighbours and I don't want to change, in fact I'd like to be able to do more to help my community! I just have to work out how and when...

In just five years, I'm going to achieve a lot!

In just five years!

I'm a planner.

I like to plan, more so than following up on the plans I put in place! It makes me feel good to think about the future, to think about the changes that I can and want to make and about how great the future will be.

The last five-year plan that I had was several years ago, and I achieved so much, in fact, I got further ahead of my initial plans as I ended up meeting the man who would be my husband and together we purchased a home too!

All I had intended was to go to University.

For a while, I've been thinking that I'm in a bit of a rut. That I've stalled in life and well, I don't want that. I want to be able to say that my family and I have reached our full potentials and of course I know that a lot of this will be down to the example set.

I am the example for my family.

I realised that when I was focused on my plan, I knew what to focus my time and efforts on, what to say yes and no to and I saw a lot of personal, spiritual and educational growth. So, there was only one thing for it. I needed to dream big, work out where I want to be in five years and then make a plan.

To be accountable though, I thought I'd do it with my trusty friends beside me and by putting my daily actions here on this blog.

In just five years, I'm going to achieve a lot!
